Event Details

The Pecan Street Project is a unique opportunity for Austin to become a leader in clean energy by providing a clean energy, smart grid laboratory.

Pecan Street Project Executive Director Brewster McCracken's stated vision includes entrepreneurs participating in the Pecan Street Project's clean energy laboratory as well as developing open source protocols and software.  Join The Pecan Commons in our first discussion of how energy entrepreneurs can participate in The Pecan Street Project.

Brewster McCracken will be attending the meeting to hear energy entrepreneur's thoughts on how they would like to participate in the Pecan Street Project. If you're developing a product or service for the smart grid or related technology, this is your opportunity to provide valuable input in how you'd like to participate in one of the most exciting smart grid demonstration programs in the country.

Pecan Commons is a global open source community of energy entrepreneurs created with a goal of promoting open standards, open source code, and growing a community of global energy entrepreneurs so that we end up creating the Energy Internet instead of the Energy Compuserve.

"For a green revolution to happen, we need people throwing crazy dollars at every idea, in every garage, that we have 100,000 people trying 100,000 things, five of which might work, and two might be the next green Google."
-- Thomas Friedman
